Phil Temples, K9HI, has proposed that “America250” WAS / W1AW coordinators in each state informally “QSL” stations who make contact with their respective W1AW special event stations via radiogram message. Messages would be sent by an active NTS participant(s) in their region and be signed by the W1AW special event coordinator or an ARRL volunteer leader (e.g., Section Manager, Section Emergency Coordinator, Section Traffic Manager).
This would require no additional time or effort on the part of the coordinator other than emailing the W1AW log and granting permission to use his or her name in the message signature. At minimum, the address section would contain email addresses to facilitate delivery. No replies would be solicited.
This type of radiogram traffic is important in keeping the NTS “well oiled” and providing routine training for operators on voice, digital, and CW nets.
